Elli’s Pikachu has traveled with the author across the east coast. Now you can join the fun through 3DS street pass!

Do you own a 3DS? Have you recently visited the Southeastern US? Perhaps you’ve been one of the few hundred gamers who have “met” the author via 3DS street pass!

Fantasy author Elizabeth Carlton is also an avid gamer. She owns several consoles including Super Nintendo, Gamecube, Wii, XBox 360, and most recently a Playstation 4. However, her favorite is the 3DS.

“I’ve ‘met’ hundreds of people from across the US and even Europe just by walking by them,” Carlton said.

For those who don’t own a 3DS, this all may sound foreign. In reality, the process is very simple. Each 3DS owner has its own customizable avatar that they can enable to communicate with other 3DS devices through a program called “Street Pass”. As long as the feature is activated, users will receive other 3DS owners’ avatars along with a customizable message each time they walk by another user. Recently, this feature has expanded in participating locations where an avatar is “left” at certain wifi hotspots for other 3DS owners to pick up.

So in short, if you pass by Elli or perhaps a wifi hotspot where she has been, you will encounter her avatar. She can be recognized by her greeting which simply says, “ElliWrites.com”.

Have you passed by Elli? Feel free to send her an e-mail via the contact page or leave a comment below to let her know what you’ve been playing! She loves gamer talk.

    • We’re never too old for a good story, Claudine. 🙂 My love for games comes from the same desire that inspires me to read and write books!

The ability to live vicariously through other characters never gets old.
