So this might be a given, but “publish a book” sits at the top of this list; one I need to expand upon a little considering the reality of this life goal and how close it’s become. With my deadline approaching and the book undergoing the editing process, things are getting down to the grind. But it’s what I want. It’s what I’ve dreamed of since I started this series nearly ten years ago. I was thinking about that today. For someone my age, that’s a huge chunk of life dedicated to one project. The product is the development of characters and a world that I’ve seen come to life before my own eyes. Characters that were once two dimensional and childish became realistic, believable and intriguing. To put it simply, they grew as I grew. The world and my writing developed, as I developed.
And soon I’ll be able to share that world with others. I’ve been published in newspapers, magazines and web publications, but this is different. Totally different. I became a journalist because I loved to write.
I’m becoming an author because fiction is where that love originated.
